The Operation Horizon, also referred as Horizon, HZN or OH is an organization in Deathloop.

Overview[]

Not much is known about Horizon and their presence on Blackreef, aside from the buildings and documents left behind. It was a research expedition, conducted by the Army of Motherland, sent to Blackreef to investigate, research and document the Anomaly.

History[]

Before Blackreef[]

Sometime before 1931, Operation Horizon was initiated by the Tyvian Motherland Air Forces' head operatives, after rumors of the Anomaly on the Northern isle of Blackreef got to the rest of the Isles. Jurgen Berezin was appointed as Field Marshall and the head of the expedition[1].

On Blackreef[]

Operation Horizon arrived on Blackreef by the early 1930s, and started constructing various bunkers and buildings, required to accommodate the extensive research equipment, such as the Pumping Station, Tidevarv Station, the Stabilizer Antenna, as well as others. It is unknown, whether the previous inhabitants (i.e. the fishing colony in Updaam)[2] have remained on the island at that time.

The military presence on Blackreef required a thorough and attentive knowledge of the island, which the personnel of Horizon performed, charting out the elevation map of the island, using the names of various locations, provided by the previous inhabitants[2], as well as giving certain locations new names (i.e. Berezin's Manor).

Horizon charted out the map of the island in 1931, using the names given by the previous inhabitants[2], as well as adding the new ones . It is safe to assume, that various Vostar batteries have been implemented by the Horizon personnel, as well as the constructions of Zarkapa Communication Devices.

Locations[]

Akkar Station[]

Secluded facility to the right of the Hangars in Karl's Bay, a station used, presumably, for documenting Horizon's discoveries.

Horizon Archival Office[]

Previously military-run, now renovated by Julianna Blake, an office in Updaam used for storing documentation of Operation Horizon[3].

Ordnance Depot[]

Motherland Air Forces' artillery bunker in The Complex, used for storing various weaponry and equipment[4].

Power Station[]

A facility with 6 power generators, used for independently supplying four HZN stations with electricity in case of an emergency[5].

Pumping Station[]

A facility to the right of Fractured ImAge, usage unknown.

Sova Station[]

A small facility to the side of Fractured ImAge, used, presumably, for communication with the mainland's Bureau Desk 17[6].

Stabilizer Antenna[]

A towering structure, used to harness the Anomaly's energy.

Tidevarv Station[]

A facility, interconnecting the Loop Control Center and the modern Laboratory Annex in The Complex, used for examining the Anomaly's state[7].

The RAK[]

A facility to the cliff-side in Updaam, contains the Rakyetoplan and the postal board for Horizon operatives.

Yasen Station[]

Main operative facility in Updaam, base of operations of Horizon as well as stationary communications' office for General Berezin, used for tracking each and every experiment on the Anomaly[8].

Personnel[]

Operation Horizon consisted of many different military and science operatives:

  • General Jurgen Berezin — Field Marshall, head of the expedition. Voiced by Mark Whitten.
  • General Chen Novak — acting head of operation on the mainland. Voiced by Arif S. Kinchen.
  • Major Viktor Raznik — Chief Security Officer.
  • Katrina Pishtchek — Head Science Officer, relieved of duty (retired). Voiced by Linsay Rousseau.
  • Lieutenant Tobias Jahn — operative at Sova Station, relieved of duty (reassignment). Voiced by Caz Harleaux.
  • Lieutenant Natali Sobel, also addressed Dr. Sobel — Second Science Officer, Tidevarv Station, took over the Head Science Officer position.
  • Captain Colt Vahn — the test pilot, operative at The RAK.
  • Captain Elias Totterdam — operative at Yasen Station.
  • Sergeant Vera Peck — operative at Tidevarv Station.
  • Lila Blake — science operative at Akkar Station.
  • Petr — operative at Sova Station, took over Tobias Jahn's position.
  • Zalinksi — operative at Akkar Station, took over Lila Blake's position.
  • Bolvak — operative at Sova Station.
